Hardangerfjord in a nutshell & Rosendal

On this tour you will see and experience the magnificent Norwegian coast and scenery of the inner reaches of the Hardangerfjord.

On this tour you will experience a varied scenery with lush fruit farms, high mountains, glaciers and impressive waterfalls! This tour can be started in Bergen or Oslo, and is available as a round trip with return to your starting point, or as a one way trip from Bergen to Oslo. You travel by fjord cruise, railway and bus, and the tour requires minimum one overnight stay en route, two overnight stays if you are traveling from Oslo.

The tour includes a journey on the coastal express boat from Bergen to beautiful Rosendal in the Hardangerfjord. Rosendal is a small village surrounded by majestic mountains, and Norway's only Barony built in the 17th century is located here. From Rosendal you travel to Odda and Lofthus in the Hardangerfjord which offers a landscape of beautiful fruit communities, mountains and glaciers.

From Eidfjord you will experience a sightseeing trip to the spectacular Vøringsfossen waterfall and the Norwegian Nature Centre Hardanger. A journey on the scenic Bergen Railway is also included.

Travel tip

Combine this tour with a hiking trip to Trolltunga in Odda! The hiking trip takes about 8 hours and is an impressive and somewhat challenging trip, read more HERE
Note: You need to stay 2 nights in Odda to be able to add the hiking trip to your tour and it requires a minimum 2 participants.

You can also visit Norway’s smallest "castle" in Rosendal and extend your Hardangerfjord tour by adding hotels in Hardanger, Bergen and Oslo.

Transfer points on the Hardangerfjord in a nutshell trip & Rosendal

Bergen: The express boat departs from the Strandkaien in Bergen (boat terminal) and is signed for Rosendal, a 10-15 min. walk from Bergen station.

Rosendal: Transfer from express boat to bus to Odda. The express boat arrives and the bus departs from the quay.

Odda: Bus departs from Odda bus terminal to Lofthus. The bus from Odda to Lofthus is marked with "Eidfjord". 

Lofthus: Change form bus to Express boat from Lofthus harbour to Eidfjord.

Eidfjord: Change from boat to sightseeingbus and vice versa. The bus departs from the quai, just beside the fjordboat.

Ulvik: Change from boat to bus. The bus stops next to the express boat at the harbour.

Voss: Change from bus to train. The bus from Ulvik arrives just outside Voss Station.

Oslo: The train arrives/departs from Oslo Central Station.

Note: Not all transfer points are included on all tours. This depends on the tour alternative that you choose. You will of course receive a booking confirmation from us with a detailed itinerary for the tour you have selected.

Is possible to go to Trolltunga on the Hardangerfjord in a nutshell & Rosendal trip?

Yes, you can add the Trolltunga hike to your tour, but you must stop over 2 nights on the trip in Odda in order to add it to your tour.

Are the tours guided?

No, there is no guide on our tours. You travel on your own by following the travel itinerary.

The tours have been organized so everyone should reach each connection. The connections and transfer points are all within close proximity of each other for easy transfer. Stops are always announced over the speakers.
