The Hardangerfjord in a nutshell tour can be started in Bergen or Oslo. The trip can be taken as a round trip with return to your starting destination, or as a one way trip from Bergen to Oslo or Oslo to Bergen.
Tour Highlights: Fruit trees, fjords and famous waterfalls
If you start in Bergen the trip takes you by train from Bergen to Voss and continues by bus to the delightful little village of Ulvik. If you’re lucky enough to be here in May, you will see the beautiful fruit trees in full blossom. From Ulvik, the trip continues by boat to Eidfjord where you will experience a sightseeing trip to one of Norway’s largest and most famous waterfalls, Vøringsfossen, as well as a visit to the Norwegian Nature Centre in Hardanger.
The round trip continues with a beautiful boat trip to Norheimsund, where a bus will be waiting to take you back to Bergen. You will pass the cascading Steinsdalsfossen waterfall on the way. It is also possible to start the tour from Bergen by bus and travel in the opposite direction.
By starting in Oslo you disembark the train in Voss and continue the trip from Voss as described above. Or you can choose to take the train all the way to Bergen and continue the trip by boat in the opposite direction. In other words, you customize your trip exactly like you wish.
Note that you can also start the tour from Voss with a travel route of Voss - Ulvik - Eidfjord - Vøringsfoss and return.
There are different ways of completing this trip and you can modify and choose the travel option that is best suited for you in the booking process. We highly recommend taking your time by adding overnight stays during the tour. That way you can enjoy the beautiful nature scenery and perhaps even take part in some exciting activities?
