Sognefjord & Nærøyfjord in a nutshell with UNESCO fjord bus from Oslo
Your tour from Oslo starts by taking the scenic Bergen Railway across the mountains from Oslo to Voss. The train trip offers excellent and varied views of Norway's shifting nature and takes about 5,5 hours. In Voss an overnight stay is required.
From Voss your trip continues by bus to Gudvangen. During this bus trip you will travel down the steep Stalheimskleiva! This is one of Northern Europe's steepest roads and winds its way through 13 sharp hairpin bends offering beautiful views.
From Gudvangen you embark on your fjord cruise on the UNESCO-protected Nærøyfjord. Have your camera ready - the Nærøyfjord offers stunning views of steep mountainsides, hanging valleys, towering peaks and waterfalls and is one of the best examples of Norway's natural beauty.
Upon arrival in Kaupanger, you continue your tour along the Sognefjord by bus from Kaupanger to Sogndal where an overnight stay is required.
After your overnight stay in Sogndal, you travel on the UNESCO Fjord Bus towards Geiranger. On the journey from Sogndal to Geiranger you travel through the Nordfjord region with various and beautiful fjord villages like Fjærland, Loen and Olden. Along the way you can stay the night in for example Loen where you can experience the spectacular Loen Skylift. The Loen Skylift will lift you from the fjord to an altitude of 1011 meters in a matter of minutes!
From Loen you travel through the village of Stryn and arrive in Geiranger, a magnificent village at the narrow end of the Geirangerfjord. Before arrival in Geiranger, the bus will stop at the breathtaking view point Flydalsjuvet perched high above Geiranger village. It offers marvelous views of Geiranger and the fjord below.
In Geiranger you will have optional activities to choose from, as for example kayaking, taking a rib-boat safari or fjord cruise, or simply relaxing and enjoying the sites in this World Heritage Area. You return to Sogndal either the same day or after your overnight stay(s) in Geiranger. After your return from Geiranger an overnight stay in Sogndal is required.
The tour continues from Sogndal by bus along the Sognefjord to Leikanger. You will get to see the mighty Sognefjord from land before you embark on an epic fjord cruise on the Sognefjord!
The fjord cruise on the Sognefjord from Leikanger to Bergen takes approx. 4,5 hours and the boat stops in several quaint villages along it's route. During your time on the boat you will really get to see "the King of fjords" up close! It is possible to disembark in for instance beautiful Balestrand and stay overnight before you continue your tour the following day.

We highly recommend adding an overnight stays to your tour in for instance Geiranger, Balestrand, Olden or Voss. Also - be sure to join in on one of the exciting activities in the region!
