Sognefjord in a nutshell tour from Bergen
The Sognefjord, Norway’s longest and deepest fjord, extends more than 200 km inland to the foot of the Jotunheimen mountains. This area is said to be one of the most beautiful travel destinations in the world.
The Sognefjord in a nutshell tour combines a beautiful boat journey on the Sognefjord, with a spectacular train journey on the Flåm Railway. Starting in Bergen you can take the tour as a round trip with return to Bergen, or as a one way trip to Oslo. The trip can be completed in one day or as a longer journey over several days.

That way you can enjoy the beautiful scenery or partake in exciting activity such as for instance kayaking, hiking or even going on a fjord safari! The express boat on the Sognefjord from Bergen to Flåm takes approx. 5 hours. The boat stops in several quaint villages along it's route and gives you a great opportunity to see "the King of fjords" up close. It is possible to disembark in for instance beautiful Balestrand and stay overnight before you continue your tour the following day. The train journeys are through spectacular nature on the Bergen Railway and the famous Flåm Railway.
