Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen) & Norway in a nutshell® from Bergen

Experience the magnificent Lysefjord, the Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen), wild and beautiful coastal scenery, the popular Norway in a nutshell® trip and two of Norway’s biggest cities: Bergen and Stavanger.

The Pulpit Rock & Norway in a nutshell® tour from Bergen is available as a round trip with return to Bergen. The tour requires overnight stays in Stavanger and Bergen and you can add additional overnight stays en route according to your wishes.

You start your tour from Bergen traveling by express bus through contrasting scenery along the western coastline of Norway. Upon arrival in Stavanger an overnight stay is required.

In Stavanger you can either go on a magnificent Lysefjorden cruise or a fjord cruise & hike to the Pulpit Rock, towering 604 meters above the fjord. You choose alternative in the booking process. The Lysefjorden fjord cruise gives you magnificent views to the Pulpit Rock, which towers 604 meters above the fjord. You can also add a hiking trip to Preikestolen in the booking process. Reaching the Pulpit Rock by foot gives you the opportunity to stand on top of the mighty mountain plateau and see the narrow Lysefjorden below!

After your Lysefjorden cruise or hiking trip, you can spend an extra night in Stavanger and travel to Bergen with the Coastal Express bus. From Bergen, you then embark on the popular Norway in a nutshell® tour. Here you will experience the breathtaking Flåm Railway, the Aurlandsfjord, the narrow Nærøyfjord and the steep hairpin bends of Stalheimskleiva, before arriving back at your starting point in Bergen.

Transfer points on the Pulpit Rock & Norway in a nutshell® trip

Bergen: The express bus "Kystbussen" to/from Bergen arrives/departs at Bergen bus terminal, field N. Approx. 5 minutes walk from Bergen railway station.

The express bus "Kystbussen" to/from Stavanger arrives/departs at Stavanger bus terminal just beside Stavanger railway station.

The Lysefjord cruise departs from Strandkaien, Vågen in Stavanger. Please meet minimum 20 minutes before departure.

The train to/from Oslo arrives/departs from Stavanger railway station. The railway station is located in the city centre.

 If your route from Bergen is directed to Gudvangen, depart the train at Voss. If your route is directed to Myrdal, continue on the same train.
The bus to/from Gudvangen arrives/departs a 250 meter walk from the railway station following the signs or instructions from the staff. Bus to Gudvangen is marked "950 Gudvangen - Norway in a nutshell®

Gudvangen: Change from bus to boat or vice versa. The bus for the Norway in a nutshell® park next to the harbour and connect with the tourist boat/fjord boat. Please look for the bus with sign for Norway in a nutshell®/Voss at the harbour.

Flåm: The fjordcruise boat terminal is situated next to the railway station. The fjordcruise boat for Norway in a nutshell® departs from pier no.1.

Myrdal: Change train for the Flåm Railway or for the Bergen Railway. The trains are located next to each other.

Oslo: The trains departs from the Oslo Central Railway Station (Oslo S).

Note: Not all transfer points are included on all tours. This depends on the tour alternative that you choose. You will of course receive a booking confirmation from us with a detailed itinerary for the tour you have selected.


Is the hiking trip to the Pulpit Rock included in the Pulpit Rock & Norway in a nutshell® trip?

You can choose between a fjord cruise on the Lysefjord where you see the Pulpit Rock from the fjord or a cruise and hiking trip where you walk up to the Pulpit Rock. Be aware that the hiking trip is not available the whole season.

Are the tours guided?

No, there is no guide on our tours. You travel on your own by following the travel itinerary.

The tours have been organized so everyone should reach each connection. The connections and transfer points are all within close proximity of each other for easy transfer. Stops are always announced over the speakers.
