The trip includes a fantastic boat trip along the coast from Bergen to Askvoll, a bike ride from Værlandet to Bulandet, and a unique trip with the charming mail boat to the small island communities Gåsvær and Hardbakke.

Tour description

You start the tour with a comfortable boat ride from Bergen to Askvoll and continue further by ferry to Værlandet. In Værlandet you pick up your bike and cycle over a string of bridges on the 11 km long stretch from Værlandet to Bulandet. The bridges are located high above the narrow straits, which gives a spectacular view of the archipelago.

When you get to Bulandet you deliver your bike at Joker Bulandet which is located right by the quay where the mail boat departs from. You have some time to check out Bulandet before you board the mail boat. The local mail boat connects the archipelagos in this area and is important for the island communities with no road connection.

During the trip you pass narrow straits and many small island treasures. You get close to nature and wildlife - porpoises, copper and sea eagles are not unusual views on the trip. Along the way, the boat driver is happy to tell you more about what you see.

The boat stops where there is mail delivery or passengers. It also stops at the idyllic fishing village Gåsvær, where you get the opportunity to go ashore before the trip continues across a stretch of open sea to Hardbakke.

You disembark from the mail boat in Hardbakke and the trip continues by bus to Krakhella and the express boat back to Bergen.
