Hurtigruten & Norway in a nutshell®

Hurtigruten & Norway in a nutshell® from Trondheim

  • Tours

The Hurtigruten & Norway in a nutshell® from Trondheim is a spectacular quest by land, fjord and sea. On the tour you cruise the western coastline of Norway with Hurtigruten, as well as experiencing Europe’s top scenic railways and Norway's most stunning fjords on the famous Norway in a nutshell® tour.

The Hurtigruten coastal voyage is often called the world’s most beautiful sea voyage. We know that taking this trip is a dream for many people - now might be the time to make the dream come true. This tour combines the Hurtigruten coastal voyage with the round trip Norway in a nutshell®, which gives you the opportunity to experience some of the best scenery Norway has to offer.

The Hurtigruten & Norway in a nutshell® tour from Trondheim is available as a round trip with return to Trondheim and requires overnight stays en route.

Hurtigruten & Norway in a nutshell® tour from Trondheim

Your tour from Trondheim starts by taking a magnificent coastal cruise with Hurtigruten along the west-coast of Norway. You spend one night on the Hurtigruten before arriving in Bergen. Your trips continues by taking the popular Norway in a nutshell® tour towards Oslo. During the trip you will experience the scenic Bergen Railway, the breathtaking Flåm Railway, the Aurlandsfjord and the narrow Nærøyfjord on a fjord cruise and the steep hairpin bends of Stalheimskleiva (May-September). Upon arrival in Oslo, an overnight stay is required.

From Oslo you travel on either the Dovre Railway back to Trondheim, or you take the Røros Railway to Røros. The Dovre Railway travels through beautiful valley and mountain terrain, while the Røros Railway takes you to Røros through rugged mountain wilderness.

Røros is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with authentic wooden structures and buildings. It is a charming and fascinating place and we highly recommend choosing the tour option that includes a visit to Røros. If you choose to include Røros to your tour, an overnight stay here is required before continuing on back to Trondheim.
