Hardangerfjord Cruise & Rosendal

Experience beautiful Hardanger with a fjord cruise from Bergen to Rosendal! Here you can visit Baroniet, Scandinavia's smallest castle from the 17th century. Rosendal is also the perfect destination for exciting activities for the whole family!

The boat cruise from Bergen to Rosendal runs through a scenic archipelago and into the beautiful Hardangerfjord before arriving in the idyllic village of Rosendal. The boat cruise is a relaxing and scenic experience that takes about 2 hours.

Arriving in Rosendal, the Folgefonn Center is located just off the pier where the boat docks. Here you will also find the tourist information. At the Folgefonn Center you will be able to gain more knowledge about the Folgefonna National Park, climate change, natural diversity and sustainable use of natural resources.

In Rosendal you can parttake in a number of exciting activities such as kayaking, hiking, glacier hike at the Folgefonna glacier, strolling around the idyllic village or visit Baroniet and the beautiful rose garden. Rosendal has something for everybody, either you want to experience the local culture, nature or something more action-filled!

The Folgefonna Glacier

From Rosendal you can join in on a unique tour to see the Folgefonna glacier up close. Paddle on a glacier lake and hike the blue ice of the Folgefonna glacier, a highly recommend activity while you are in Rosendal!

You can also go on one of the many guided hiking tours in the "Alps" of Rosendal. On the hikes you will get exciting local history and get the best views of the Hardangerfjord and surrounding mountains. 

Baroniet Castle

You cannot be in Rosendal without a visit to the Baroniet Castle. Baroniet Rosendal is Scandinavia's smallest castle and the only one of its kind in the country. The castle is among other things known for the magnificent landscape park with a rose garden and for a rich cultural program with concerts, courtyard theater, lectures and art exhibitions.
